See you at the Golf Tournament

Dear Ore Ganguers,

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the 17th Annual Ore Gangue Golf Tournament on Friday, September 8, 2017. The Ore Gangue Historical Publication (OGHP) Project will be there too and we are looking for your help!! We’ll have a table set up and will be able to show you our progress so far and what pages in the commemorative book being put together to mark the 85th Anniversary of the Ore Gangue in 2019 will look like.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP US:

  1. Become a Founding Member for only $25. Digitizing and recording all the artifacts and stories we are receiving for the Project takes money. Your membership enables us to move forward with this important work. You can either join at the tournament or go online at http://oreganguealumni.wixsite.com/mysite/sponsorship-opportunities.

  2. Bring your Ore Gangue memorabilia to the tournament. Consider donating it or at least lending it to us for the project. There will be plastic bags and markers to identify everything and we promise to return it safely once it has been photographed and recorded. The U of S library will archive any and all donated items for future generations. We are looking for everything: issues of WIUGC or other Conference books, newspaper articles, newsletters, membership cards, photos, awards, OG clothing, etc. Please be generous in sharing what you have. It doesn’t do anyone any good stashed away in a closet or box.

  3. Calling all storytellers! If you have any funny stories/anecdotes to share, write them down and give them to us. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A GREAT WRITER! We can clean them up grammatically and you will always see the final version before it goes into the book. If you are really shy about writing, tell your story to one of the OGHP Project committee members and we will write it for you!

  4. If you don’t have a story to share, then just jot down a few lines answering the question, “WHAT DOES THE ORE GANGUE MEAN TO YOU?” We will have a section in the book with your feelings about what is one of the most unusual, amazing and meaningful student societies at a university in North America.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

The OGHP Team
